# Employee Spotlight: Kirsten Largent

## **A New Chapter of Leadership**

##### *How Pointcore’s new president is bridging strategy and operations to shape the future of our company and of healthcare.*

![KirstenLargent](https://blog.pointcore.com/hs-fs/hubfs/KirstenLargent.jpg?width=266&height=258&name=KirstenLargent.jpg)For more than three decades, Kirsten Largent has helped shape the future of OSF HealthCare through strategic financial knowledge and leadership. Today, she's bringing that same thoughtful approach to a new role as President of Pointcore.

While continuing to serve as Chief Financial Officer for OSF HealthCare, Kirsten now also leads Pointcore, creating a unique connection between the health system and its for-profit organization. The dual role allows her to help align strategy and champion the innovative work happening across both facets of the organization.

"This new role of President has given me an entirely new perspective," Kirsten said. "What has impressed me most is the depth of expertise across Pointcore and the commitment our teams bring to solving difficult problems. I have learned a tremendous amount from our leaders and Mission Partners, and I want to make sure their work, and the value they create, is understood both within OSF and across the healthcare industry.”

##### **![KirstenQUOTE-finance](https://blog.pointcore.com/hs-fs/hubfs/KirstenQUOTE-finance.png?width=550&height=271&name=KirstenQUOTE-finance.png)A Journey Through Finance**

Kirsten's career has been defined by continuously embracing new opportunities and building on each experience. After beginning her career in public accounting, she joined OSF more than 30 years ago, where she steadily advanced through accounting, financial planning and finance operations before becoming Chief Financial Officer in 2024. Along the way, each role expanded her understanding of healthcare and strengthened her ability to solve increasingly complex challenges.

Her financial background gives her a broad view of how decisions affect an organization, while her years in healthcare have shown her that the best solutions rarely come from looking at a challenge through just one lens. “Being CFO, I can bring a financial perspective to the problems we are trying to solve across the organization,” she said. “Finance is one perspective, but it takes collaboration across every discipline to make meaningful progress.”

##### **Seeing Pointcore Through a New Lens**

Stepping into the presidency allowed Kirsten to see Pointcore from the inside, even though she had worked closely with Pointcore leaders over the years. It also meant stepping into areas where she wasn't necessarily the subject matter expert. Rather than seeing that as a limitation, Kirsten has embraced the opportunity to learn from the leaders and teams around her, relying on their knowledge while bringing her own perspective on strategy, financial sustainability and organizational performance.

![KirstenQUOTE-Excites](https://blog.pointcore.com/hs-fs/hubfs/KirstenQUOTE-Excites.png?width=550&height=271&name=KirstenQUOTE-Excites.png)One of her first priorities as President was leading the executive team through an update to Pointcore's vision and strategic areas of focus. The process gave the team an opportunity to step back, consider where the organization is today and define where it wants to go next. It also reinforced the value of bringing different areas of the organization together. Her role across both OSF and Pointcore allows her to connect the two groups, help remove barriers and bring Pointcore's perspective to the executive table while helping Pointcore better understand the needs of the health system.

"There's so much intersection between what Pointcore does and the challenges we're trying to solve across healthcare," she said. "Being able to bring those aspects together is really powerful."

As Kirsten has become more immersed in Pointcore, she’s quickly realized the organization’s potential extends far beyond the services it provides. She sees the potential in Pointcore’s ability to help healthcare organizations tackle challenges they may not have the resources to solve on their own — from helping leaders make smarter financial and capital decisions to strengthening supply chain strategies and aligning technology with business priorities. Having experienced many of these challenges firsthand at OSF and through work with other clients, Kirsten believes Pointcore can bring practical experience, new ideas and proven approaches to organizations looking for a way forward.

##### **![EricKirstenCollage2](https://blog.pointcore.com/hs-fs/hubfs/EricKirstenCollage2.jpg?width=439&height=615&name=EricKirstenCollage2.jpg)Accelerating the Industry with Pointcore**

Having spent her career inside healthcare, she understands the pressures leaders are under and sees Pointcore as an opportunity to help organizations navigate them while contributing to a stronger, more sustainable healthcare industry. That belief has fueled her desire to become one of Pointcore’s biggest advocates.

“I want to tell the story of all the incredible things happening here,” she said. “There are so many people doing meaningful work, and more organizations need to know what Pointcore can offer.”

Telling that story doesn’t stop with reaching individual organizations. Kirsten sees an opportunity for Pointcore to contribute to the broader healthcare conversation by sharing what we have learned and building relationships across the industry.

Her involvement with organizations such as the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) is helping create those opportunities. Through industry partnerships, webinars and other conversations, she can bring her financial background together with Pointcore’s operational knowledge to explore some of the most pressing issues facing healthcare today.

For Kirsten, building Pointcore’s voice in the industry is another way the organization can make an impact — not only by helping individual clients solve complex problems, but by contributing practical knowledge and ideas to the broader healthcare conversation.

##### **Leading With Clarity, Empathy and Communication**

In Kirsten’s view, strong leadership starts with creating an environment where people understand what is expected of them, have the tools to succeed and feel comfortable being honest about the barriers standing in their way. She believes transparency and accountability go hand in hand with empathy.

##### **![Kirsten-crystalclear-QUOTE2](https://blog.pointcore.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Kirsten-crystalclear-QUOTE2.png?width=550&height=271&name=Kirsten-crystalclear-QUOTE2.png)**

That same commitment to transparency extends to how she communicates strategy. Kirsten believes a vision only has value when people understand it, believe in it and know how they can contribute to it. "If we don't know what our struggles and barriers are, we can't fix them. Communication is so important."

With that foundation of clarity and trust in place, she encourages the people around her to be curious and courageous. She wants her leaders to ask questions and challenge assumptions. She also encourages her team to not let perfection stand in the way of growth. "Don't wait until you're completely ready to jump, because you'll never be truly ready."

That growth isn't only about what people can accomplish today. It's about building the leaders who will carry the organization forward tomorrow. Kirsten places a strong emphasis on thoughtful succession planning and developing talent from within, creating opportunities for people to take on new responsibilities and build experience across different areas of the organization. "I want us to have a really strong bench," she said. "We should be able to grow people from within, trust in them and promote them into new opportunities to continue our company growth overall."

##### **The Future of Pointcore**

As Pointcore enters its next chapter, Kirsten sees an increasingly important role for the organization in helping healthcare organizations navigate a period of significant change. Financial pressures, workforce shortages and growing operational complexity are reshaping the healthcare landscape. At the same time, health systems are searching for new ways to strengthen their operations and create sustainable models for the future.

Kirsten believes Pointcore can be part of that solution.

> **"Healthcare is facing tremendous challenges. The work we're doing through Pointcore helps make healthcare stronger, more affordable and more sustainable for all. That's what motivates me every day."**

As she looks ahead, Kirsten's vision remains rooted in collaboration, innovation and service. By bringing together the right people and ideas, and leading with clarity and trust, she believes Pointcore can continue strengthening health systems and, ultimately, the care they provide to the communities they serve.
